The Babycorecare courses will provide you with knowledge of the neuromotor development during the first year of life, where the development of core-stability will form the foundation for future movement pattern.
An understanding of the development of core-stability and quality of movement pattern, will enable you evaluate the individual infant, from a neurological and functional perspective, and will give you the skills to provide personalised exercises and parental advice to encourage the development of functional stability.
With this in-depth understanding of the infants motor development you are able to manage imbalances such as; torticollis, one-sided rolling, one-sided creeping and crawling, and other challenges such as difficulties with tummy time, rolling, sitting up, standing up or walking.
The main resources behind the courses are the principles behind Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, the knowledge of the maturation of nervous system and the newest available evidence.
Babycorecare Basis 1 has a special focus on the age group 0-5 months of age
The courses will combine theory and practice – in form of video cases and live-cases – to enhance the applicability into practice.
Outcome
Assessment of infant motor development
You will get an understanding of how the infant gradually gains control over the body and how that is reflected in the movement pattern. You will be able to look at the development, both from a quantitative (motor milestones) and a qualitative (how is the movement pattern) aspect.
Assessment of neurological development.
You will be able to perform a neurological examination of the infant – including primitive reflexes and postural reactions, and through the examination to interpret the maturation of the nervous system.
Understanding of how movement pattern reflects neurological maturation.
You will gain an knowledge about how the movement pattern reflects the maturation of the brain, and why this is important to know!
How do you support optimal motor development!
Step by step, we will empower you with exercises and parental advice that enable you to support musculoskeletal function and optimal motor development. This course is focused on infants 0-5 months
How do you empower parents?
Through your understanding of motor development, you will be able to guide parents in handling advice adjusted to the individual child, to support and strengthen the child’s development.
